Lincoln Woman Assaulted on Walking Trail, Police Searching for Suspect

Lincoln Police are seeking more information regarding a frightening incident for a 20-year-old Lincoln woman.

On Thursday, July 25, around 6:21 p.m., the woman called LPD after walking the Tierra Williamsburg Trail, just south of 33rd & Nebraska Parkway, and meeting a man on a bicycle.

“She said they first met going opposite directions and exchanged pleasantries. A short time later she ran into him again. This time he dismounted his  bicycle and grabbed her by her shirt collar,” said LPD Captain Todd Kocian.

The woman reportedly tried to push the man away and he grabbed her hip area and shirt sleeve. She was able to break free and returned home where she called the police. She had minor injuries from scratches to her lower back and shirt collar area.

The suspect is described as a white/male, 30-40 years old, 6’3”, 200 lbs., wearing a neon long-sleeve shirt and black gloves. He was riding a bicycle with fat tires and was last seen riding westbound on the trail.
