Lincoln Police were called to the Oak Park Motel at 9th and Oak just before 8 p.m. on December 26th after a 23 year old man said his luggage was taken at knifepoint.
He told police he gave 42 year old Christopher Bouwens money and asked hum to buy cigarettes. A short time later, Bouwens knocked on the victim’s door again demanding some of the cigarettes. The victim opened the door and Bouwens had pulled a pocketknife and pointed it at the victim. Bouwens continued to demand cigarettes and took several pieces of the victim’s luggage.
Bouwens was later found by police in his own room and did admit to taking the luggage. Bouwens commented this was to “teach him a lesson”, meaning the victim.
Bouwens was booked for robbery and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
