Police were called to a home in the 28– block of North 3rd Street at 12:37 a.m. on December 25th after a neighbor reported a shooting.
Police found a 39 year old man inside with two apparent gunshot wounds to his abdominal area. He told police that two people forced their way into his home, started yelling and firing shots. The victim and two dogs were hit by gunfire.
The man was rushed to a hospital and he will recover. Both dogs will also be okay.
Crime Scene Technicians and members of the Criminal Investigations Unit collected forensic evidence at the scene. The motive for this crime is unknown at this time. This investigation is ongoing.
