Lincoln Police have made an arrest in the murder of a 29 year old man Monday afternoon outside a home near 26th and Vine. Assistant Chief of Operations Jason Stille said during a Tuesday morning news conference that 50 year old Brian Adams has been arrested for 2nd degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
Stille says officers were called to the home around 3:10 p.m. by someone who said the victim had been struck with a large pole and that CPR was in progress. “The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.”
He says Adams was arrested a few hours later at a home in southwest Lincoln. Stille says it appears Adams and the victim got into a fight. Adams is in the hospital being treated for injuries and will be booked into jail when he is released. Police are still trying to notify the victim’s family.
This investigation is ongoing, and police encourage anyone with information about this incident to call 402-441-6000 or make an anonymous report at Lincoln Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
