A man was seriously hurt in a one vehicle crash near the Lincoln Children’s Zoo early Monday morning. LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says the 20-year-old driver went off the road and struck a tree near Capitol Parkway and ‘A’ Street around 1:00 a.m.
“He was found on the ground outside his vehicle holding his stomach,” Thomas says. “He was taken to the hospital and into surgery and it appears he had a serious injury to his abdomen and pelvis.”
The vehicle sustained $7,000 damage. Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the crash.
