A change to a previously announced Nebraska Trade Delegation visit to Indonesia was detailed in a Friday news release from the office of Governor Jim Pillen.

Nebraska Lieutenant Governor Joe Kelly

Lieutenant Governor Joe Kelly will lead the more than 20-member delegation on a week and a half visit that includes representatives from the University of Nebraska, the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, the Nebraska Department of Agriculture and members of several agricultural producer organizations.

Governor Pillen had planned to lead the trade mission but asked Lt. Gov. Kelly to step in due to the scheduled special session of the legislature.

“Indonesia is growing rapidly and is a major market for Nebraska agricultural exports,” said Lt. Gov. Kelly. “We are excited to explore this vibrant market and build new partnerships that will directly benefit Nebraska’s economy.”

July 15th is the first day of activity which will include a briefing from the U.S. Embassy.  The trade mission will conclude July 24th.  The full news release is available here 7-5-24 Pillen News Release – Kelly to Head Indonesia Delegation
