NWS Tornado Survey July 1-2, 2024 Lancaster County

The National Weather Service confirmed 2 tornados touched down overnight Monday into early Tuesday morning in Lancaster County.

The first, a EF-0 (zero) touched down in the Dorchester area with peak winds around 74 mph. The twister was about 80 yards wide and was on the ground for just over 1/4 of a mile.

The second touched down south of SW 27th and Rokeby Road and was classified as an EF-1 with peak winds of 107 mph. At its maximum it was about 300-yards wide and traveled 2.28 miles before lifting near highway 77.
