A Lincoln man was arrested after a hit and run near 39th and West Holdrege around 11:30 Monday night. “Where a vehicle had crashed into a detached garage, causing approximately $20,000 damage,” says Lancaster County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ben Houchin.
He says the vehicle then left the scene. “The deputy responding to the crash noticed a white Hyundai with significant front end damage and the driver’s airbag deployed at SW 20th and West “O” Street.
He says a deputy stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as 59-year-old Gerald Meeker. Houchin says he was highly intoxicated and cited for for aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
