A motorist was cited for going more than 60 mph over the speed limit in Lincoln last week.
Lincoln Police shared on social media, an officer stopped the driver at 52nd and “O” Street going 101 mph in a 40 mph zone.
“This is incredibly dangerous and could have tragic consequences,” the post read. “We want everyone to arrive home safely.”
Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident. The driver was cited for willful reckless driving and engaging in a speed contest.
Lincoln Police is currently conducting the ‘Make it Click‘ seatbelt enforcement project, now through June 2, with additional officers patrolling Lincoln with a focus on traffic safety, employing a zero tolerance approach to drivers who are stopped and found to not be using their seatbelts.
