Motorcyclist Arrested Following Lancaster County Pursuit

By Tom Stanton May 9, 2024 | 11:20 AM

A Lincoln man is facing several charges after leading Nebraska State troopers on a pursuit in eastern Lancaster County Wednesday night.  The patrol says just after 8:00 p.m. a trooper saw a motorcycle speeding on Cornhusker Highway,’

“The trooper attempted a traffic stop, but the motorcycle accelerated and fled at a high rate of speed,” says spokesman Cody Thomas.  He says the trooper initiated a pursuit as the motorcycle left Lincoln and headed toward Waverly.

“The motorcycle continued on Highway 6 into Waverly where it turned into a residential area,” Thomas says.  “The trooper discontinued the pursuit out of concern for public safety and a short time later another trooper observed that the motorcycle had crashed in the parking lot of Waverly High School.”

Troopers and a Lancaster County Sheriff’s Deputy called for an ambulance and provided aid to the rider.   31-year-old Jarret Bruckner was transported to Bryan Health West Campus with minor injuries.

After he was medically cleared Bruckner was booked into the Lancaster County Jail for flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, driving under the influence and various traffic violations.
