Governor Issues Disaster Declaration Following Storms

By Mark Vail Apr 29, 2024 | 5:51 AM

Governor Jim Pillen issued an emergency declaration following last week’s severe storms. Damage from thunderstorms, high winds, rain and reported tornadoes was significant with three counties covered in this declaration; Douglas, Washington, and Lancaster.

The declaration allows for use of the Governor’s Emergency Fund, established under the authority of the Nebraska Emergency Management Act, to address conditions resulting from these storms.
