Lincoln Police have cited a driver in connection with a crash last week that seriously injured a motorcycle rider. The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. April 4th at 33rd and Nebraska Parkway. LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says a mini-van was westbound on Nebraska Parkway and was attempting to make a left turn on a flashing yellow arrow to go southbound.

She says the eastbound motorcycle rider slammed into the passenger side of the van.  “We did have an off-duty police officer who witnessed the crash and did help provide medical support to the motorcycle driver prior to LFR’s arrival,” Thomas says.

LPD says the motorcyclist no longer has life-threatening injuries and can wake up and respond to commands.  The van driver has been cited for failing to yield the right away.
