Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews found a person dead after responding to a mobile home fire around 8:30 Monday morning. LFR Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says a home health care worker discovered the fire near NW 6th Street and Gaslight Lane when they came to check on the resident.
“Upon arrival LFR crews opened the door and the trailer was full of smoke and extinguished a small fire. They did find one person who was deceased.” Lierman says they rescued five cats from the home and gave them oxygen.
They were turned over to Animal Control. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
