A powerful weather system will move through the region this weekend. Southeast winds are expected to become quite strong with gusts of 50 to 60+ mph possible Saturday afternoon into evening.
Potentially dangerous fire weather conditions could materialize Saturday afternoon due to the strong winds.
In addition to the fire weather concerns, a fast moving band of showers and thunderstorms will advance from west to east across the area from late Saturday afternoon into early evening.
There is a 15 to 30 percent chance of severe weather with damaging wind gusts being the main concern.
