Lincoln Police were called to the U-Stop near 56th and I-80 around 4:30 Monday morning after a passerby saw the front door had been broken. “Officers arrived to find the glass door shattered and several shooter-sized bottles of alcohol lying on the ground outside,” says Captain Todd Kocian.
He says surveillance video shows an SUV entering the parking lot and five people all dressed in dark clothing getting out of the vehicle. “Three of the people throw a large weight through the front door to gain entry. They remove several shooter- sized bottles of alcohol and exit the business.”
Kocian says the vehicle is last seen northbound on N. 56th Street. Damage to the business is estimated at $500 and the thieves stole about $227 worth of alcohol. The investigation is continuing.
