Lincoln Police arrested a suspect in a recent fraud involving the loss of $40,000 cash with a caller who identified as an inspector with the Federal Trade Commission last weekend.

Investigators contacted the suspect at which time he requested another $30,000. Officers conducted a surveillance operation at the Hy-Vee parking lot at 50th and O Street and at 2 p.m. Monday the suspect arrived in the same vehicle previously observed on video.
36-year-old Vipulkumar Chaudhary of Council Bluffs, Iowa is charged with theft by deception of $5,000 or more and attempted theft by deception of $5,000 or more.
