Lincoln Police say one of their sergeants pulled over a driver on “O” Street around 11:00 Friday night.  “For going 90 in a 40 MPH zone between 48th and 56th Street,” says Public Information Manager Erika Thomas.

“We have seen numerous fatalities on ‘O’ Street over the years and a joy ride isn’t worth anyone’s life.”  She says the driver was cited for willful reckless driving and no insurance.

“As we head into spring and the weather warms up, we want to remind everyone to please slow down and drive carefully. There will be more drivers on the road, including motorcycles, and we want to make sure everyone makes it to their destination safely,” Thomas says.

LPD says you can submit a traffic enforcement request directly to their traffic sergeant by clicking here.    “If you’re seeing issues with speeding or red light running or other issues within your neighborhood and that way we can get officers out to that area to address the problem.”
