Medical Cannabis Advocates Looking For Paid Petition Circulators

By Tom Stanton Mar 21, 2024 | 11:20 AM

In an effort to put the medical cannabis issue before Nebraska voters this November, Nebraskans For Medical Marijuana is now hiring paid petition circulators.  “Whether they’re in Lincoln or anywhere else please reach out to us and become a paid circulator,” Statewide Campaign Manager Crista Eggers said on the Dan Parsons Show Wednesday.

“It’s a flexible job, full-time, part-time, whatever you want to make of it.  Eggers says anyone interested in a paid position can click here.  The deadline to collect  signatures to put the issue on the November ballot is July 3.

Last week Eggers told KLIN News they were near 75,000 signatures total for its two petitions.  To qualify for the ballot, they must gather the signatures of about 87,000 registered voters and get signers from at least 5% of voters from 38 of state’s 93 counties.

One of the two petitions would set up the doctor patient system and the other regulates the industry.
