Man Tased After LPD Says He Pointed Pellet Gun At Officers

By Tom Stanton Mar 18, 2024 | 12:34 PM

Lincoln were called to 27th and Vine around 10:30 Friday night on reports of a man shooting a pellet gun from the balcony of an apartment building. “Officers approached the area and verbally
commanded 30-year-old Brandon Scalf to come out,” says Public Information Manager Erika Thomas.

“When he jumped into view, he pointed a black long gun at officers. One officer deployed multiple taser probes.”  Thomas says Scalf then ran into an apartment and two more Taser probes were deployed.

Police were able to take him into custody.  Scalf was taken to a hospital for treatment, which is standard procedure when someone is tased.  He was booked into the Lancaster County Jail for unlawful discharge of a firearm, use of a firearm to commit a felony and obstructing a police officer.

Thomas says there were no visible indicators that he was armed with a pellet gun.
