Two people from California ended up in the Lancaster County Jail following a traffic stop around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon near Highway Highway 77 and Old Cheney Road. Lancaster County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says a member of their Criminal Interdiction Unit stopped a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter for speeding, driving on the shoulder and following too closely.
“After the stop both gave consent to search the van,” Houchin says. “An aftermarket compartment built in the cargo area was located.” Inside the compartment deputies found 260 pounds of marijuana, 832 grams of THC oil and 10 ounces of THC wax.
Houchin says 41-year-old Dorit Erenstein and 50-year-old Antonios Michalopoulos were both arrested foe intent to deliver marijuana and evading the drug tax.
