Very high fire danger is forecast Sunday afternoon mainly in northeast Nebraska.  A fire weather watch has been posted for areas where extreme fire danger is forecast in eastern Nebraska and west central Iowa.

FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR PORTIONS OF EASTERN NEBRASKA AND WEST CENTRAL IOWA… 

The following counties are included in the Fire Weather Watch:  In Iowa, Monona. In Nebraska, Knox, Cedar, Thurston, Antelope, Pierce, Wayne, Boone, Madison, Stanton, Cuming, Burt, Platte, Colfax, Dodge, Washington, Butler, Saunders, Seward, Lancaster, Saline, Jefferson and Gage.

* Winds…Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Relative Humidity…As low as 11 percent.

Any fires that develop may spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible Red Flag Warnings.
