Lincoln Police made a quick arrest following the robbery of the Kwik Shop at 27th and W Street just after midnight Tuesday. “An employee reported a male entered the store with a white Hostess cinnamon roll box covering his right hand and demanded money,” LPD Captain Todd Kocian says.
“The employee believed there was a handgun hidden under the box and turned over an undisclosed amount of currency.” Officers arrived and encountered 24- year-old Izaiah Bartu of Lincoln. Kocian says Bartu tried to run away but was quickly taken into custody.
“Officers located a silver handgun, an undisclosed amount of currency and 4.1gm of methamphetamine,” Kocian says. Bartu was arrested for robbery, use of a deadly weapon
to commit a felony, felon in Possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and tampering with physical evidence.
