Tuesday is a big day for Lincoln Littles, an organization that provides early care and education to all children. On LNK Today, executive director Anne Brandt said they are holding a one day fundraising campaign in conjunction with Lincoln Community Foundation.

“Lincoln Community Foundation is actually matching gifts to the campaign dollar-for-dollar and we’re trying to raise $20,000 today,” Brandt says. Since 2019 the Lincoln community has contributed $4 million in support of early childhood and the work of Lincoln Littles.

That money helps offset the costs of early education for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.  “It’s just very expensive,” Brandt says.  “Usually people are maybe at the bottom of their earning power when they’re having children.  “It is truly as expensive or more expensive than in state college tuition.”

Brandt says if you want to learn more about Lincoln Littles or make a donation you can click here.  “This is an everyone issue, the extent to which all children in Lincoln have access to quality early childhood experiences. It really affects the rest of the community.”
