A Pennsylvania man is behind bars after he was pulled over for speeding on I-80 near the Lincoln Airport around 8:30 Thursday morning. Lancaster County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says 23-year-old Eric Miernicki was issued a warning.
During their contact with Miernicki Houchin says he gave consent to search his car. “They found three oxycodone pills, 12.5 grams of marijuana and $22,900 in cash.” Houchin says they also found U-S Postal Service packaging receipts and marijuana packaging. He says investigators believe marijuana was in those packages.
“The Postal Service has intercepted the packages, but I have not heard yet what was in them,” Houchin says. Miernicki was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance.
