Damage is estimated at $50,000 after a two car detached garage and a vehicle parked inside of it went up in flames Tuesday night. LFR Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says crews faced some challenges when they arrived.
“It was fully engulfed in flames and there were reports of downed power lines, which made it a little difficult to maneuver around,” Lierman says. “The garage had fallen and they were able to put the fire out.”
She says the vehicle inside the garage had a fuel tank rupture, which sparked more flames. Firefighters used dry chemicals from three rigs to put that fire out. Lierman says no one was hurt and Damage is estimated at $10,000 to the garage and $10,000 to the contents.
She says a neighboring garage also sustained some damage.
