A 16 year old boy is dead following an accident around 12:45 Tuesday morning at 70th and Fletcher.
Lincoln Police say the sedan had been traveling southbound on N 70tth Street when it left the road and hit a tree. The 16 year old passenger died at the scene.
The 17 year old male driver, a 16 year old female passenger and a 20 year old male passenger were taken to hospitals with serious but non-life threatening injuries. All of those involved were from Lincoln.
The investigation as to what caused the crash remains under investigation and it is not yet known if drugs or alcohol were factors.
Names have not been released pending family notification.
The roadway was shut down several hours during the investigation.
