Lincoln Police are seeking the public’s assistance in two separate crimes this week, one involving a possible credit card thief, and another involving a small time arsonist.
The first case occurred on November 2nd, 2023, when a woman reported losing her credit card somewhere in the City of Lincoln.
Video Forensics Technician for the Lincoln Police Department Becky Keller says they were able to follow transactions made with this card, and observed it being used at numerous north Lincoln businesses, including Tractor Supply, U-Stop, Walmart, and two restaurants.
Police were able to acquire images from the U-Stop, showing the suspect arriving and departing in a 2009-2013 Hyundai Sonata. Photos can be viewed below.
Police are also seeking information on a situation that could have been very destructive.
On December 8th, 2023, Lincoln Police were called to a home NW 6th and Laramie trail on the report of a possible arson in progress.
Keller says the caller, a nearby neighbor, stated she and her husband came home around 4 p.m. and saw a female walking away from a residence where they noticed a small fire had been started.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded to the fire and are jointly investigating the case along with LPD.
Photos and video of the suspect are available below.
