Lancaster County officials have announced a new brand new bridge will open Tuesday afternoon. The $1 million county bridge E-38 bridge is located on NW 105 Street in between the Malcolm village limits and the Malcolm ball field.

The original bridge was damaged by floods in 2015 and 2019.  “The opening of this bridge reduces the number of closed bridges in Lancaster County to three,” says Lancaster County Engineer Pam Dingman.  “This is the 30th bridge opening since 2016.  This is a significant milestone for the citizens of Lancaster County which will ensure that our community’s transportation system remains reliable into the future.”

Dingman says there are only three bridges currently closed and there are plans to build five more this year.
