A Hickman has been arrested after leading authorities on a high speed two-county pursuit. The state patrol says it began Wednesday afternoon when troopers learned a Jeep Patriot fled from a traffic stop in Otoe County.
A trooper saw the vehicle traveling more than 100 miles-per-hour as is approached Lincoln on Highway 2. A patrol spokesman says the Jeep ran over stop sticks as it turned onto Highway 77 southwest of Lincoln.
The Jeep came to a stop on I-80 near the West Cornhusker interchange. Patrol officials say 39-year-old Joshua Pearce got out and ran across all six lanes of I-80 and was arrested by a trooper and a Nebraska National Guard solider, who saw Pearce running down an I-80 embankment.
He was was arrested for obstructing a peace officer, willful reckless driving and resisting arrest. He was booked into the Otoe County Jail.
