Widespread snow is expected from this afternoon into tomorrow with periods of near-blizzard conditions are likely late tonight into Friday morning, especially in far eastern Nebraska and western Iowa.

3 to 7 inches of snow is forecast for the Lincoln area.

Bitterly cold temperatures and dangerous wind chills will follow the snow with lows Saturday and Sunday nights forecast at 18 below zero.

Sunday’s high is forecast to be 4 below zero.
