A traffic near 33rd and Huntington Saturday night resulted in a 22-year-old man going to jail. Captain Todd Kocian says an officer saw a vehicle run a red light at 33rd and Huntington.
A traffic stop was conducted near 33rd and St. Paul and Kocian says the officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. He says 22-year-old Ruben Oconnor of Lincoln denied having any weapons or drugs.
“During a search, the officer discovered a 9mm handgun concealed in his waistband along with 7.3gm of marijuana.” Oconnor was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and not disclosing it.
He was also cited or possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
