What You Need To Know About Heading To The Polls Today

Election day is here and state officials say more than 40 percent of registered Nebraska have cast their ballots early.

If you haven’t done so, here are some frequently asked questions:.

When are polls open?

8 a.m. to 8 p.m. CT, 7 a.m. to 7 pm. MT

Where do I vote?

Voting is not allowed at the Lancaster County Election Office.  You can check your site at the Nebraska Voter Information Lookup site.

What if I moved?

If you’ve moved within the county or changed your name and haven’t updated your registration, you can still vote by asking for a provisional ballot at your NEW precinct.

What if I haven’t returned my early ballot? 

Do NOT put them in the mail.  Ballots must be received by 8 p.m. tonight.  You can drop off the ballot at the ballot drop off box at the Election Commission Office at 601 N 46th St.  Ballot collection sites at local libraries are NOT open today.

How do I know my early-voting ballot was accepted?

Check the Nebraska Voter Information Lookup website to track the status of your ballot.

What if I’ve lost my early ballot or it has been damaged?

You can request a provisional ballot at your polling precinct.

What if I notice voter intimidation?

You can report instances of voter intimidation to Lincoln Police.  Call 402-441-6000.

What if I have other questions?

Lancaster County residents can contact the Election Commission Office at 402-441-7311.

Election Coverage
