An approaching winter storm will bring heavy, wet snow and gusty winds to the area Monday into Tuesday. The latest forecast from the National Weather Service has pushed the expected arrival back a few hours from earlier forecasts and has been extended further into Tuesday.

* WHAT…Heavy snow is expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph, leading to areas of blowing and drifting snow.
* WHERE…Portions of southwest and west central Iowa and east central, northeast, and southeast Nebraska.
* WHEN…From 6 AM Monday to noon CST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the commutes on Monday through Tuesday morning.
