Three teenage boys were taken into custody after a burglary spree Wednesday morning. Lincoln Police were called to the Alohma Vape store at 82nd and Holdrege around 2 a.m. after a witness called police to report seeing three people break the door of the business. The three then ran away. Officers found the front glass door broken but it did not appear that anyone had been inside the building.
About a half-hour later, a LPD officer was checking security at Lincoln Vapor at 68th and A Street and saw three people had broken into the store and were running away. Officers gave chase and a 17 year old boy was found hiding behind a dumpster. He was in possession of a duffle bag. Inside, officers found and estimated $1,600 worth of vape products that had been taken from Lincoln Vapor.
Officers found another 17 year old boy in the parking lot of McDonalds at 66th and O Street. He was sitting in a vehicle belonging to the 17 year old boy already in custody. Officers found a wrench, clothing, and a backpack in the vehicle identified as being used in both burglaries.
A 16 year old boy was contacted at his home. Officers then developed probable cause to refer all three juveniles for burglary.
