Fire heavily damaged a two-unit apartment house near 10th and C Streets around 6:30 Wednesday night.  LFR Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says when crews arrived there were flames coming from the second story.

“Crews put out the fire pretty quickly, but there was a lot of extension in the attic space.”  She says one person and a dog had to be assisted out of the first floor apartment, but no injuries were reported.

Damage to the house is estimated at $130,000 and $20,000 to the contents.  Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the fire.
