Lincoln Police were called to the 4400 block of N 7th Street around 8 p.m. on Friday, September 2th to look for 28 year old Shaka Chol who had an outstanding warrant for assault. Officers found Chol standing outside a 2002 Toyota Camry. Chol was taken into custody on the outstanding warrant.
The owner of the vehicle told police that Chol was given permission to drive his vehicle. When he returned it, there were firearms in the trunk that did not belong to him. The owner gave police permission to search the vehicle and they found three rifles that had been reported stolen on September 18th when the Pawn Express at 1921 O Street had been burglarized. Officers also found an Apple computer that was taken in the same burglary inside the vehicle.
Chol was arrested for three counts of possession of a stolen firearm and for theft by receiving.
