Every year, the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday, is Giving Tuesday. A day to give back to your community in whatever way you can.
As we spent the last week with family and friends, acknowledging what we’re grateful for, today we shift our gratitude to our community and the various local non-profit organizations that provide so many critical services.
President/CEO of the Lincoln Community Foundation, Alec Gorynski, says your donations don’t necessarily have to be monetary.
“Whether it’s giving your time, your talents, or perhaps your lightly used treasures, you can donate anything,” Gorynski told KLIN News, “Think about a shelter, that has to provide food, clothing, blankets, or even household items. Giving of your time is tremendously important this time of year. A lot of organizations are seeing an increase in the number of individuals that they’re seeing and as a result, may need a few extra sets of hands.”
Gorynski offered givetolincoln.com as a handy and simple resource to find an organization to give back to today for #GivingTuesday.
