The Center for People “In Need” is rebranding with a new name and new programs to continue serving disadvantaged people at their 27th and Fairfield location.
“We changed our name to Center for People to be more inclusive of all the things that we do here,” Director of Communications Belinda Acosta told KLIN News, “We changed our logo. If you come to the building itself, you’ll see our refreshed monument, which is our signage right on the entry. Very significantly, our administrative offices, in addition to all of our education programs, moved to the front of the building.”
Acosta says this relocation will help the center elevate their educational and employment services that can provide means for people to break the cycle of poverty.
“We’ve always been known for food and diapers, and we’re still doing that. However, part of our mission is trying to help people become economically independent, and part of that is education. If people do not have the skills and the means to seek higher paying jobs, they’re going to continue in that cycle of poverty. We want to break the cycle,” said Acosta.
