The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department says 19-year-old Carter Smith was the person killed in Thursday afternoon’s two vehicle crash at 134th and Adams. Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says Smith failed to yield and pulled out in front of a box truck.
The 45-year-old truck driver from Arlington, Texas couldn’t avoid the collision and struck the car on the passenger side. Both vehicles ended up off the road in a ditch. Houchin says Smith was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.
The truck driver was not hurt.
