Good Samaritans helped Lincoln Police catch a suspect in a burglary at the Super C at 745 South 21st Street around 8:30 p.m. Thursday night.
Officers were flagged down near 21st and G and told of a disturbance at the convenience store. They spoke with an employee who said she was closing for the night when an man approached from from the candy aisle and demanded she give him all the money. The man grabbed the woman’s hair and punched her in the face several times. She fought back and ran out of the store. The suspect was seen trying to get into the cash register but when that failed, he took off running.
Several people nearby saw what had happened and started chasing him. The soon were able to surrounded him until others flagged down officers.
19 year old Qapreece Wells was booked for attempted burglary.
