The Lincoln Police Department and the Lincoln – Lancaster County Health Department are aware of the highly publicized event at the Super Saver store.
Lincoln Police have released a statement concerning DHM violations involving a woman not wearing a mask coughing on customers.

The Lincoln Police Department and Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department work closely with each other to address complaints of Directed Health Measures and/or related incidents. Education to the public about regulations is preferred as a first step before taking enforcement action. Offensive actions that go beyond mask wearing can be considered a criminal violation, such as depicted in this incident. At this time, the Lincoln Police Department has received no complaint from a victim(s) of this disturbance. While viewing this incident may be disturbing to some viewers, enforcement is predicated on statements and evidence from those actually at the scene.

The one complaint we have received is from an individual who was initially identified on-line as the offender. This erroneous identification resulted in on-line harassment and repeated offensive phone calls to her workplace. These actions are also potential criminal violations.

If someone wishes to report what they believe to be a DHM violation, or they are otherwise being aggressively harassed based on their masking status, we are encouraging citizens to utilize the UPLNK app to report these events. If they prefer, citizens can also call the Health Department at 402-441-6280 to make these reports. If a disturbance is occurring, citizens can request a police response by calling 402-441-6000.
