A man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle just before 9:00 Thursday night at Sun Valley and West O Street. Sergeant Chris Vollmer says a vehicle driven by a 56-year-old Lincoln was eastbound on West ‘O’ when it hit the man, who was crouched down in the middle of the road holding a dog.
“The man was taken to a local hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, Vollmer says. “I don’t know what led to him being in the roadway or why he stayed, but it was in the middle of the road not near a crosswalk.”
No citations were issued and Vollmer says alcohol and drugs are not believed to have been factors in the accident.
