There were 2,919 new regular unemployment claims filed last week, down 122 from the week before. The Nebraska Department of Labor reports there were 1,680 new Pandemic Unemployment Assistance claims filed last week, 40 fewer than the week before.
Regular continued unemployment claims for the week ending September 26th totaled 18,456, down by more than 15-hundred from the week before. Continued Pandemic claims rose by more than 1,000 to 32,347.
Nebraska paid $29.2 million in total payments that included $21.8 million in Lost Wages Assistance Payments last week. Approximately 134,000 individuals received payments.
For the week ending September 19th, Nebraska made $34.2 million in total payments including $26.5 million in Lost Wages Assistance payments to 133,702 Nebraskans.
