A man was tased and taken into custody in Lincoln after violating a protection order and stealing a security camera.
In the early hours of Wednesday, September 27, at 4:19 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of North 37th Street and Cornhusker Highway, in response to a potential Protection Order Violation. Officers spoke with a 64-year-old male victim who said he saw a man whom he held a protection order against around his home via security camera video. This individual was seen removing one of the security cameras from the victim’s residence.
Lincoln Police spoke with the alleged perpetrator, 37-year-old Tyler Shepard, at his near by residence. Shepard resisted attempts to take him into custody, prompting the use of a taser by law enforcement.
Shepard was taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation and once medically cleared, he was cited for violating a Protection Order, theft by unlawful taking, 2nd degree criminal trespass, and resisting arrest. He is being held in Lancaster County jail.
