A Lincoln woman ended up in jail early Sunday morning after police say she assaulted a man inside Steve O’s lounge at 110 West Fletcher. Sergeant Chris Vollmer says a 35-year-old man told officers he ran into friend and they began to argue over an unknown issue.
Vollmer says the victim said Nicole Birkes pulled out a small knife and began pressing it into his back. “At which time he grabbed for it and she headbutted him in the face, causing a suspected broken nose.”
An officer used a Taser to take Birkes into custody. She was taken to the Lancaster County Jail and booked for terroristic threats, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony and 3rd degree assault. The man went to the hospital to be treated for his nose and hand.
