The Task Force One Urban Search and Rescue Team based in Lincoln is on it’s way home from Louisiana. The task force assisted with search-and-recovery efforts after Hurricane Ida.
“The received their de-mobilization official papers and they departed Lafayette, Louisiana this (Friday) morning,” says LFR’s Nancy Crist. She says they are headed for the Oklahoma City area where they will spend the night Friday. “And then they will leave Saturday morning to come back home. “We’re hoping to see them back home sometime in the afternoon on Saturday,” Crist says.
During their mission, task force members did door-to-door searches for people stranded in their homes by flood waters. The 40 member team includes firefighters from Lincoln and Omaha and civilians.
