On September 2nd around 4:30 p.m., a Lincoln Police officer on patrol saw a white, 2009 Nissan Altima parked in the driveway of a home at 15th and Atlas. A man got into the vehicle, picked something up and returned to the house.
The officer identified the vehicle as one stolen on August 10th from the 800 block of S 9th Street.
The man and a woman left the house, got into a pickup and drove off. The officer followed, did a traffic stop and detained the man. A search was conducted and the keys to the stolen vehicle were found in possession of 33 year old John Rice. The vehicle was also processed for evidence and items inside belonged to Rice.
Ride was booked for felony theft by receiving.
