A 28 year old man is facing drug and weapons charges after police arrested him late Monday night. LPD says an officer saw Pedro Castillo at the Kwik Shop at 14th and Adams around 11:00 as he got into a pick up truck.
Castillo was wanted on an outstanding warrant for Driving during Suspension. As the officer tried to make contact with Castillo, the truck started to drive away. The officers conducted a traffic stop while still in the parking lot. Castillo was taken into custody without incident.
During a search, the officer found 0.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine in his wallet and a loaded .380 handgun concealed on the passenger floorboard. Castillo was arrested for Possession of a Deadly Weapon while Committing a Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Carrying Concealed Weapon, and an outstanding warrant.
