Lincoln Police are investigating after shots were fired near Cooper Park near 8th and E Street around 6:30 Saturday evening. Sergeant Chris Vollmer says a witness reported seeing a group of kids running from the area.
“Arriving officers located two spent 9mm casings on E Street between 5th-6th and a residence in the 400 block of E Street had damage consistent with gunfire.” No injuries have been reported in connection to the incident.
LPD was also called to the area of Antelope Valley and O Street around 3:30 Sunday morning on the report of gunshots heard. Arriving officers found 16 spent 9mm casings in the alley between Antelope Valley Parkway and 21st Street and O to N streets.
There was no damage consistent with gunfire reported and no injuries reported. Both investigations are ongoing and Vollmer says anyone with information is asked to contact Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000; or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
