The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) is working to keep drivers safe and responsible as we finish out the summer season.
LPD has released the results for their participation in a national 3 weekend DUI prevention campaign, Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.
Additional officers were patrolling the streets, coinciding with Labor Day weekend running from August 18th through September 4th, implementing a zero-tolerance policy for drivers under the influence of alcoholic and/or drugs, while keeping an eye out for other traffic and safety violations.
Over those 18 days, officers conducted 40 DUI investigations and cited 17 drivers for being under the influence. Officers made a total of 180 traffic stops and issued 10 speeding citations, 16 for no valid registration and 8 for driving under suspension.
